Huge Google+ Update… But So What?

This week, Google unveiled the first real major update to its fledgling social media offering, Google+. If you still haven’t used it or don’t even know what it is, you’re not alone. However, the type of reader for this blog has most likely signed up and played around with circles and hangouts once or twice.

Here is a promotional video that Google released alongside the launch of the recent upgrade, explaining some of the new features while reiterating some existing ones.

A 5 Step Guide To Launching A Social Media Campaign

When an organization decides to take the leap into social media, it should not be done on a whim. Far too often we have seen companies jump in with both feet, only to fizzle and give up after 2 months, wondering what happened? Allocating time to a campaign, and understanding that it needs to run for not only 6-8 weeks, but for the foreseeable future, is a necessity in order for it to be successful.

While the overall goal of a social media campaign is to generate business, it must not be used as a sales tool. After all, that’s what your website and sales staff are for.
